I am currently volunteering on my second farm in Israel, Yarok Az, located in Moshav Ilanlia, near the Kineret. They are currently building an ecological visitor center, where people can come to learn about cheese, yogurt, and permaculture. I am helping in the dairy as well as building an outdoor shower out of mud. They also have an extensive grey-water system from the dairy.
Here is my question:
How did we [society] get to the point that it is counterculture to take our organic waste and turn it into rich soil? I was taking out the compost and trying to figure this out. Do you compost? Why or why not?
